Best Sims 4 Game Packages, Ranked

The Sims 4 is a solid game on its own but players who decide to get downloadable content will find that the content helps the game truly shine. In total, Sims has over 50 packs that players can purchase to expand their gameplay.

There are four types of packs available to players. Each pack can be purchased in a variety of sizes. These are the four types of packs that are available.

Expansion packs: Large-scale packs with a broad theme that include a lot of content in all areas. These packs introduce truly game-changing features such as Seasons or Cats and Dogs.Game packs: Medium-sized packs focused on one decently sized specific theme, such as Vampires or Parenthood.Stuff packs: Small-sized packs usually focus on one small idea or theme, such as Tiny Living or Paranormal.KitsMini-packs with additional content. These packs are focused on a single aspect and one only. These aspects can be gameplay, such as in Bust the Dust, furniture, such as in Little Campers, or clothing, such as in Moonlight Chic.

There are 12 different game packs to choose from. Players will find that these packs are built around more specific content that might not fit into everyone’s gameplay. All Sims 4 Expandsion Packs, Ranked

12) Journey to Batuu

Image via EA

Journey to Batuu is a Sims 4 game pack inspired by the Star Wars themed land called Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, California. This pack takes Sims players to a world where the theme park meets the classic Star Wars films.

Although this collaboration sounds great in theory, it is a disaster in practice. Rather than a pack dedicated to showcasing the magnificence of Star Wars, Journey to Batuu feels like one big advertisement for the Galaxy’s Edge theme park and lacks any real depth.

The pack’s biggest downfalls are the lack of replayability and usage outside of specific Star Wars-themed gameplay. You can join the Resistance or First Order, but the path feels sluggish and linear regardless of which faction they choose.

The create a simulation assets included in this pack are very specific and cannot be used outside of the pack. The same applies to the build/buy items. However, players who are skilled in building space or structures with alien themes will find more use.

Lightsabers, one of the most iconic parts of Star Wars, are little more than toys that any regular Sim can swing around. There is no way to become Jedi, Sith, or even a Jedi in the pack. Kylo Ren, Rey, and Rey are only props.

Although Star Wars and Sims had great potential to collaborate, Journey to Batuu is the worst of all available game packs. Even Star Wars lovers will find this pack disappointing.

11) StrangerVille

Image via EA

StrangerVille suffers the same issue as Journey to Batuu as it also has a linear storyline that limits replayability. While the storyline of Journey to Batuu does have more replayability due to having three different branches that players can choose, StrangerVille is ultimately superior due to the usefulness of the world, the build/buy items, and the create a sim assets.

The mystery of StrangerVille and its storyline is an absolute blast to play through the first time, but once players have played through it, they probably won’t find themselves returning to it for quite some time. The town has a unique desert that can be used once the mystery is solved.

The furniture and other building items within StrangerVille are very useful in various builds. The pack contains both windows and doors that will be useful for those who are looking to create apocalyptic-style buildings.

StrangerVille is a decent package. It’s a good pack for players who are looking for mystery or a story-driven adventure. Just be sure to stay away from the Mother…

10) Jungle Adventure

Image via EA

The concept of Jungle Adventure is fascinating and unique, but this is also its weakness. Because it’s such a unique concept, it is hard to find usage for this pack in everyday gameplay. This pack is not compatible with all playstyles. It focuses on solving puzzles and exploring temples.

The vacation world of Selvadorada is full of chaos, adventure, and exploration, and Jungle Adventure is overall a fun pack. However, this gameplay style is very specific to archeology and an exploration-based lifestyle that probably won’t fit your everyday Sims lifestyle.

9) Outdoor Retreat

The Outdoor Retreat pack is a great option for Sims players who want to explore the great outdoors. Granite Falls is the ideal camping destination, offering a variety of activities, including fishing, cooking around firepits, and exploring.

Parts of Outdoor Retreat feel shallow, and most players don’t use vacation worlds very often, but it is an overall solid pack for players looking to add camping and exploration to their gameplay.

8) Spa Day

Spa Day allows players to visit and create spas that offer different ways to manage stress. You can use this pack to learn Wellness skills, get massages, or just relax in the sauna.

This pack was good when it was released but became even better following the refresh The Sims 4 team did to it that added new content. The update added nails to the base game, and included manicures, pedicures, and facials. masksThere are also several nail designs that are exclusive only to the pack. A visit to the spa is a fun activity that can easily be incorporated into most gameplay styles making Spa Day a solid pick among the game packs.

7) Realm of Magic

While Realm of Magic isn’t going to fit into everyday gameplay, it is a strong pack that does its theme very well. This pack features Spellcasters. They are a wizard-based occult who can cast magic, create potions, and fly with brooms.

Glimmerbrook is the world that comes with this pack. It is small and difficult to use outside of the context Spellcasters and a magical theme. However, the portal in regular world leads to a stunning Spellcaster-exclusive world with a dueling field, a magical shopping centre, and a mansion players can visit to increase their learning abilities.

The create a Sim and build/buy assets are stunning and magically themed. Although some assets are designed for Spellcasters only, many others can be used for any purpose.

Spellcasters have a skill-tree and can learn all sorts of useful spells. One that makes food appear instantly, allows them to teleport and can repair any item instantly is one example. Realm of Magic is a solid pack sure to bring magic to any Sims player’s gameplay.

6) My Wedding Stories

My Wedding Stories is one of the most controversial packs in The Sims existence. This pack offers the best Tartosa game world. It features a beautiful beach world. The create sim assets feature impressive formal pieces. The build/buy options make it difficult to build weddings due to the number of amazing options.

The controversy stems from the fact that this pack was launched with an unprecedented number of bugs and issues, which still make it unplayable. When it launched, this pack was unplayable for almost every Sims player.

The pack works well for now. Despite bugs, the flexibility to create a more personalized and in-depth ceremony is great. It also adds a lot of storytelling value. My Wedding Stories might be higher if not for the absurd amount of bugs the pack has experienced, but it is still a wonderful pack.

5) Eat Out

Because of its unpredictable nature, there are many players who experience frequent bugs and glitches with the pack. We have lowered its rating. Dine Out is a great pack when it works, but the problem is that it oftentimes just doesn’t function properly.

When the pack is working properly, players can create and manage their own restaurants, design menus, visit established restaurants and order unique food items. Because the concept of this pack is very versatile and restaurants can fit into and enhance any player’s gameplay, it is a great choice for expanding upon activities that Sims can engage in during their day-to-day lives.

4) Vampires

Got fangs? The Sims 4 Vampires lets players choose to be a frightening creature of the dark with their fangs. You have many options to customize every Vampire, including unique eye designs and fangs. These options allow players the ability to create a frightening monster straight from nightmares or a shining teen heartthrob that will charm everyone who sees them.

The best part of becoming a Vampire, is the detailed skill tree. Players can unlock powerful abilities like the ability to turn into a bat or turn other Sims into Vampires and live forever as they increase their Vampire prowess.

Forgotten Hollow is the dark, gothic, and spooky world included in this pack. It’s great for Vampire Sims, but it isn’t very usable outside of this specific style. This world is also always full of Vampires, which means any Sim who isn’t one and chooses to live there will be in constant danger of being attacked by one.

Vampires is a solid pack with many assets that can be used to help players play an occult-centric game style.

3) Werewolves

Image via EA

Unsurprisingly, the newest occult pack is often the best. Werewolves feels like The Sims 4 team took everything they learned while making all other occults and drastically improved upon it. This pack’s occult system is so great that it needs to be refreshed by all other occults.

This pack’s build/buy assets are very grungy, broken, and used. This style is unlike any other pack, but it’s perfect for players who want to create something more raggedy or messy.

Werewolves share a skill tree with Vampires or Spellcasters. However, they also have unique temperaments which can increase their chances of turning. Werewolf Sims can join a pack, explore mysterious underground tunnels, and learn deep lore from The Sims. Werewolves is a complex, detailed, and engaging pack sure to delight any Sims player interested in occult gameplay.

2) Dream Home Decorator

The Interior Decorator career is one of the best active careers in The Sims 4. Simoleons are earned when Sims renovate and design homes for other Sims.

This pack’s build/buy assets are strong because they can be used in many ways. Many of the furniture can be combined in many ways to create unique units. The best thing about this pack is its versatility. It is one of the most popular game packs.

The create sim items offer a variety for all ages, as well as simple pieces that will go with many outfits. Dream Home Decorator is an exciting pack that offers players a career, great building assets, as well as beautiful create a sim items.

1) Parenthood

Parenthood is the best Sims 4 pack. This pack focuses on family. This pack adds the Parenting skill as well as new options such a rewarding or disciplining behavior and the ability to completely define what a child looks like based upon the choices made by players.

These build/buy products are also great. You can find colorful posters for children’s rooms, stunning cabinets, realistic clutter, and other average family home assets in this pack that bring a homey feel to any house.

The pack includes hair, clothes, shoes, and other items that create a sim. This is a strong selling feature. While many other packs frequently leave teen, children, and toddler fashion behind, Parenthood boasts solid options for all ages.

Parenthood is a great game pack that allows Sims players to build deep, meaningful relationships with their families.
